To help celebrate its 50th Anniversary, The Young and the Restless is releasing an audio-only special.
It will start in September. 30, as the Emmy-winning series enters its 50th Anniversary on CBS. The sudsy show will air on weekdays and be available on all major podcast platforms. The Young and the Restless will be the network’s first and only network and show, giving daytime fans an unprecedented way to experience the stories they love. The show was a modern take on the American radio soap operas that appealed to home audiences at the time. Now fans can visit Genoa City anywhere, anytime.
“We are very excited to launch The Young and the Restless as a show. As we continue to expand our podcast offerings, we’re seeing shows share a passionate fanbase that translates well into the audio space,” Steve Raizes, CEO of The president of Podcasting and Audio said. “We have had great success with this initiative with The Late Show Pod Show with Stephen Colbert and The Daily Show: Ears Edition and expect similar results with The Young and the Restless.”
The long-running CBS daytime drama will also mark its anniversary with a series of return appearances from all-time fan favorites. The Young and the Restless has been the most watched afternoon show for 35 years in a row. It airs weekdays on CBS and also airs on Paramount+ and from Bell Dramatic Serial Company and Sony. It was created by Anthony Morina while collaborating with writer Josh Griffith.
